Cancellation & Refund Policy

Welcome to Lawyer-Talk — India’s most trusted platform for secure, on-demand legal consultations. As a technology facilitator connecting users to independent legal professionals, we uphold a strict no-cash-refund policy to ensure fairness to legal experts and protect our scheduling ecosystem. This document outlines our cancellation and wallet-credit policy in full transparency.

🔹 1. GENERAL TERMS & USER ACCEPTANCE

By booking a consultation through Lawyer-Talk, users expressly agree to this Cancellation & Refund Policy and acknowledge that:

Lawyer-Talk is not a law firm, and does not employ, control, or guarantee any legal professional’s services or advice.

All payments are final. Refunds to original payment methods (e.g., UPI, card, bank) are not entertained under any circumstance.

Wallet credits, when issued, are a non-cash, one-time courtesy and not a right.

🔹 2. STRICT NO-CASH-REFUND POLICY

To maintain platform efficiency, avoid scheduling misuse, and respect the time of verified professionals:

🔔 All fees paid are non-refundable.

Lawyer-Talk will not process refunds via any bank, card, wallet, UPI, or third-party channel. Only wallet credits may be issued in specific and verified scenarios as outlined below.

🔹 3. USER-INITIATED CANCELLATION

Users may cancel a scheduled session, but wallet credit is only granted under strict eligibility windows:

⚠️ Frequent or last-minute cancellations strain lawyer availability and reduce access for genuine users.

🔹 4. LAWYER OR PLATFORM-INITIATED CANCELLATION

In rare events where Lawyer-Talk or the assigned lawyer is responsible for a missed or disrupted session, wallet credit may be issued.

Eligible for wallet credit if:

Lawyer fails to join at the scheduled time (Verified No-Show)

Lawyer cancels without notice and no alternate is available

Platform-side server/technical failure interrupts session

Conditions:

Issue must be reported by the user within 2 hours of scheduled start time

Session logs will be verified for eligibility

Not eligible if:

User experiences technical difficulties on their own devices or connection

User attempts to cancel or reschedule at the last minute

Issue is reported after 2 hours

🔹 5. PRO-RATA WALLET CREDIT POLICY (If Session Interrupted Midway)

In exceptional cases where a consultation starts but is interrupted, a partial wallet credit (pro-rata) may be issued only if:

At least 50% of the session was missed due to verified platform-side failure or lawyer disconnection

The lawyer or user immediately reported the interruption

Disruptions caused by user-side technical faults (connectivity, app, device) are not eligible for any credit.

🔹 6. WALLET CREDIT TERMS & CONDITIONS

When approved, wallet credits will be:

Issued within 72 business hours

Non-transferable, non-refundable, and non-cash convertible

Valid for lifetime use, unless account is flagged or terminated

Viewable in the “My Wallet” section of the app

Wallet credits may be revoked or withheld if:

Fraud, misrepresentation, or abuse is suspected

User violates platform terms or attempts multiple unfair cancellations

🔹 7. FRAUD & ABUSE PREVENTION

Lawyer-Talk maintains a zero-tolerance policy for misuse:

Flagged users (2+ cancellations per month or suspicious patterns) may face:

Temporary booking restrictionsMandatory prepayment without refund eligibility

Additional identity verification

Lawyer-Talk reserves the right to refuse credits to repeat offenders or terminate accounts at its discretion.

🔹 8. HOW TO CANCEL A SESSION

🧾 Via Lawyer-Talk App

  1. Log in to the app.
  2. Go to “My Consultations”.
  3. Select the session and click “Cancel Appointment”.
  4. Provide a valid reason and submit.

🔹 9. POLICY MODIFICATIONS

Lawyer-Talk may modify this policy at any time. Updates will be posted on our website/app and will take effect immediately. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

🔹 10. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

All matters related to cancellations, credits, or complaints will be reviewed by the Lawyer-Talk Compliance Team. Our decisions are final and binding.

All disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Hyderabad, Telangana under the laws of India.
